Thanks for the comment Ali and the excellent links. We've actually decided to follow Joshua's session guide at our meetings. Although last week we talked about the Strategy Pattern, started a little out of order but we'll get back on track. How did you guys structure the meetings? We are trying to shoot for a round table type deal. Any input you have would be more than welcome :).

It's great to see an ActionScript centric Design Patterns Study Group on the East Coast has. Here in the Bay Area we've had one going for a couple years. The knowledge gained studying the Gang of Four book with peers has been immense. A spin off group started last week for a third pass through the book. The rest of us are considering a new one. The list we're considering follows:

- Designing Interfaces
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0596008031/qid=1136964868/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/002-9896369-8117625?s=books&v=glance&n=283155)

- Engineering a Compiler
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/155860698X/qid=1137044683/sr=2-2/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_2/002-9896369-8117625?s=books&v=glance&n=283155)

- Enterprise Integration Patterns
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0321200683/ref=pd_bxgy_img_b/002-9896369-8117625?%5Fencoding=UTF8)

- Pattern-Oriented Software Architecture, Volume 2
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0471606952/qid=1137567539/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/002-9896369-8117625?n=507846&s=books&v=glance)

- Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0321127420/qid=1136964640/sr=8-4/ref=pd_bbs_4/002-9896369-8117625?n=507846&s=books&v=glance)

- Refactoring
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0201485672/qid=1137568756/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/002-9896369-8117625?s=books&v=glance&n=283155)

- Refactoring to Patterns
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0321213351/qid=1136964640/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/002-9896369-8117625?n=507846&s=books&v=glance)

- Test Automation Patterns (not yet published)

- Virtual Machines: Versatile Platforms for Systems and Processes
(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1558609105/qid=1137044747/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/002-9896369-8117625?s=books&v=glance&n=283155)

Also, Joshua Kerievsky's learning guide to design patterns (http://www.industriallogic.com/papers/learning.html) was helpful for us. You may want to look into it.

Have fun!
